The Home Assist service provides reassurance by knowing that whatever happens, support is always available, particularly for people who:
• Live alone.
• Are less mobile.
• Are unwell.
• Might be at risk of falling.
• Want reassurance when away from home.
• Have recently returned from hospital.
• Don’t have regular visitors.
• Are worried about intruders or crime.
• Are caring for someone.
Everyone needs a bit of care and support as they get older. That’s why Boots have joined up with Tunstall Healthcare – a leading telecare provider, to offer the Home Assist service.
The service provides round-the-clock support with simple, easy-to-use devices such as pendants and belt clips that, when pressed, alerts a member of Tunstall’s support team when you need help.
And, if you wish, a member of your family or support network can also be informed giving you even more peace of mind.
For the Family & Carer
The CareClip provides family members and carers with peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being cared for around the clock, without diminishing their independence or quality of life. The CareClip platform provides a log of activity, allowing family members and carers to see how active the user has been and the journeys they have made throughout each day. Automatic updates can be received through the management platform’s support mobile app, meaning loved ones and carers are kept informed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The CareClip has been developed to not only support those in need of additional care, but for those who provide it. These carers have the option of monitoring the user through a 24-hour monitoring centre and using the management platform and supporting mobile app to monitor the device themselves.
Benefits for the User
The CareClip has been developed to provide users with a feeling of security and support whether at home or when out and about. It gives the user confidence and they are safe in the knowledge that help is nearby should they need it. As the CareClip allows users to be more active, they have the opportunity to remain independent within their homes and communities. The CareClip is a small, lightweight and easy to wear device. It can be worn discreetly clipped to an item of clothing or worn around the neck on a lanyard.
The CareClip App
The CareClip also comes with an interactive app that allows carers to access critical user information from the device. Carers can use the app to acknowledge events, check user information and identify user location. It sends push notifications for any panic, fall, boundary or battery alerts, keeping carers informed and allowing them to respond accordingly. The app provides flexibility around monitoring the user and their CareClip and expands the user’s informal network of care.
The CareClip Wristband
The CareClip Wristband is an added feature of the CareClip service. It is intended for use at night time when the CareClip is charging. It is also designed for use when the wearer is showering or bathing. The CareClip Wristband has a panic button feature which sends alerts via the CareClip giving the wearer confidence and security.
For situations when a helping hand is needed the user can be contacted by the monitoring centre with direct 2-way voice communication through the CareClip.
